Shortly after the second series of J&F aired in Australia, a deal was struck to sell the series to Japan's Fuji TV Network. Johnson was the first Australian series to sell to Japan, and it was an instant success. The original Australian dub, as well as two specialised French and Mandarin dubs, were also screened in Japan.
